Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) refers to the class of digital telephony and data-transport services offered by regional telephone carriers. ISDN involves the digitization of the existing telephone network, and permits voice, data, text, graphics, and multimedia to be transmitted over existing telephone wires in an integrated manner.
