3. Three Major Airbus Manufacturers Use SAP Aerospace and Defense Solution - Feb 1999 news report
Aerospatiale, DaimlerChrysler Aerospace and British Aerospace Productive With SAP R/3(R) - SAP AG, the leading provider of enterprise application solutions, announced that three major manufacturers within the European Airbus Consortium are productive with the SAP Aerospace and Defense(tm) solution: Aerospatiale, Airbus and ATR divisions; DaimlerChrysler Aerospace AG (DA); and British Aerospace.
Aerospatiale's Airbus and ATR Divisions - The divisions that went live most recently are the final assembly line for the regional transport aircraft ATR, manufactured by Aerospatiale's ATR division, and the Saint Eloi plant, which manufactures basic parts and carries out the pylon assembly.
DaimlerChrysler Aerospace Airbus - The company is currently productive with the Materials Management, Financials, Controlling, Project System, Investment Management, Asset Management, Quality Management and Maintenance modules.
British Aerospace - The current implementation project, which is nearing completion, will see the implementation of Finance, Controlling, Project System, Materials Management, Production Planning, Sales and Distribution and Quality Management. SAP R/3 was selected because of its data integration, functionality and scalability.
